If you travel out to Pazhanjur Village, you will find Althaf Shoes Pvt. Ltd. at No. 395 Pazhanjur Road. We are located near the Chembaramabakkam Post area, which is a bit of a drive from the main city center. The surroundings are much quieter here compared to the urban areas. We have a large workspace that is more of a shed than a traditional office building. The roof is made of corrugated sheets, so you really hear it when it rains. There is plenty of space for the workers to sit and handle the shoe production. We have a dirt path leading up to the entrance, and sometimes cows from the village wander near the gate. It is a very grounded place. The morning air is usually fresh, which is a nice change of pace. We have our own way of doing things here at Althaf Shoes Pvt. Ltd., focusing on the manual work and making sure everything is put together correctly. Most of our staff live nearby in the village, so they just walk or bike to work. It feels more like a community workshop than a big company. There is no corporate dress code or fancy meetings. We just show up, do the work on the shoes, and go home when the sun starts to set over the fields. It is a simple life and a simple business.
