Al-In Engineering

Al-In Engineering is tucked away at New No. 50 in Collectorate Colony. We’re on 3rd Cross Street in Aminjikari. It’s a residential-turning-commercial kind of area, so it’s a bit quieter than the main roads but still gets busy. We do engineering work, which basically means we handle metal parts, repairs, and small-scale manufacturing. The shop has that smell of oil and cut metal that you’d expect. We have some older machines that still work perfectly and a few newer ones too. It’s not a sterile environment; there are shavings on the floor and tools everywhere. We’ve been in Aminjikari for a while now. Most of our customers are locals or small businesses from around Chennai who need something fixed or fabricated. We don’t have a big corporate structure. If you come in, you’ll probably see one of us covered in grease or working a lathe. We take on the jobs that the big firms won’t touch because they’re too small or too fiddly. We don’t make grand promises about being the best. We just look at the job, give a price, and get to work. It’s practical, everyday labor. Some days are slow, and other days we can’t keep up with the repairs. That’s just how the engineering life goes for a small shop like ours. We just try to keep the machines running and the customers satisfied with the results.
