We are over at 5/69 Elangonagar in Tiruvanmiur. Agarwals Eye Hospital Ltd has this branch here, and it is a pretty straightforward place. Chennai heat can be tough, so we keep the fans going all day inside. Tiruvanmiur is a nice part of the city, a bit closer to the sea, so we get a bit of a breeze sometimes if we are lucky. The hospital building is not very big, but it stays quite busy with people coming in from the nearby residential areas. You will see kids with their parents and older folks who have lived in Elangonagar for decades. We don't have any of those fancy marble lobbies you see in the big private hospitals in the center of town. It is more functional and plain. Our day starts early, setting up the charts and making sure the equipment is ready. Sometimes the waiting room gets a bit cramped, especially on Mondays. We all know each other here, and the atmosphere is pretty relaxed among the staff. We just go about our business, checking eyes and talking to patients about their prescriptions. It is honest work. Outside, the street is usually quiet compared to the main roads, which is a relief. We've got a small area for parking, but it fills up fast. Most of us have been working here long enough that we know the regular patients by name when they walk in for their checkups, which makes the days go by a bit faster.
