We are based at 14/1, Sundara Vinayagar Koil 1st Street in Perambur. It’s a busy part of Chennai, and our street is no different. The temple is nearby, so we hear the sounds from there quite often. Our office is a straightforward place. We have some computers, a few desks that have been around for years, and plenty of wires running along the floors. It’s not a high-tech lab or a glass skyscraper. It’s just a building in Perambur where we handle distribution system tasks. The air conditioning works most of the time, but when it doesn't, we just open the windows and deal with the Chennai humidity. There is always someone coming in or out with a delivery or a piece of mail. We don't have a receptionist in a suit; usually, whoever is closest to the door just looks up and says hello. The stairs are a bit narrow and the lighting in the back room is a little dim, but we know where everything is. Lunch usually means someone bringing in food from one of the stalls on the main road. We’ve been part of this street for a long time. It’s just a practical, local business office where the work is steady and the environment is very familiar. No one here is trying to impress anyone; we just focus on the tasks at hand. The ceiling fan in the corner makes a rhythmic clicking sound that we’ve all just learned to ignore.
