Our rolling mill is located at 118 T.H. Road in Tondiarpet. It’s a busy part of the city, and our gates are usually open to let the trucks in. Rolling steel is hard work. It involves heat and heavy machinery and a lot of sweat. We’ve been doing this for years, and the building shows it. There’s a bit of rust here and there, and the paint is peeling, but the machines inside are kept in good shape. That’s the important part. We don't spend much time worrying about how the front gate looks as long as the production is moving. The noise is constant, but you get used to it after the first week. We have a small office near the entrance where we keep the records. It’s usually full of people coming in to sign for deliveries. We don't use a lot of fancy words to describe what we do. We take raw metal and we roll it into what’s needed. It’s a basic process but it requires a lot of attention. Our workers are local people from around Tondiarpet. We all know each other’s families. We aren't trying to be a giant corporation. We are just a local mill trying to do a decent job every day. Sometimes things go wrong, and we just roll up our sleeves and fix it until it's right.
