Our business, Adithya Ferro Allys Pvt Ltd, is located at 88 Coral Merchant Street in Mannady, Chennai. This area is one of the oldest and busiest parts of the city. The streets are very narrow and are always filled with lorries, carts, and people moving goods. It’s a very traditional trading hub. We deal with ferro allys, which are used in making steel. It’s a heavy, industrial type of trade, so our office is quite functional and a bit old-fashioned. We don't have a fancy reception or modern furniture. Instead, there are stacks of ledgers and old wooden desks. The air in Mannady is usually thick and salty because we are so close to the harbor, and it gets very hot in the afternoons. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who come into the office to discuss orders. It’s a noisy environment with all the shouting and vehicle sounds from the street outside. We aren't part of some huge global corporation. We’re just a private limited company that has been in this same spot for a long time. Our staff knows the local trade very well. We don't spend money on advertising or shiny brochures. Most of our business comes from long-standing relationships we’ve built over the years. It’s a tough, gritty kind of work, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the allys where they need to go and keeping the business running every day.
