Aarathi Engineers

We've been here at G.K. Industrial Estate for a while now. Most people know us as Aarathi Engineers. It’s just a regular shop on Third Cross Street where we handle a lot of metal work and mechanical stuff. My brother and I started this because we knew our way around machines. It gets pretty loud in here during the day. We spend most of our time fixing parts or making small batches of components for other businesses nearby. Porur has changed a lot since we opened, but our spot stays the same. The floor is usually covered in some kind of metal shavings or oil. We don’t really have a fancy front office. If you come by, you’ll probably find someone with greasy hands working on the lathe. It isn’t glamorous work, but it pays the bills. Sometimes we have to stay late to finish a job when a client is in a rush. We don't mind. We've got a small team, maybe four or five guys depending on how busy things are. We mostly just keep our heads down and get through the pile of work on the bench. It’s honest work. If you're looking for us, look for the blue door on the first main road. We’re right there. Sometimes the power goes out, so we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back on. That’s just how it is here. We try our best.
