We operate out of a small place on West Karikalan Third Street. It is number 8 A, right in the heart of Adambakkam. This part of Chennai always feels busy, but our street is tucked away just enough to keep things manageable. The office is basically just a few rooms filled with desks and tall stacks of account books. Being a chartered accountant is not always glamorous, and our office reflects that. It is functional and serves its purpose. We spend a lot of time here, especially when deadlines are approaching and the sun starts to go down before we are finished. There is always someone coming or going with a folder under their arm. We have known the people in this neighborhood for years. Sometimes someone just pops in to ask a quick question about their paperwork or a new regulation they heard about. We do not have a big reception desk or anyone in a suit waiting at the door. It is just us, Ahamed Rasool and the rest of the team, sitting at our desks working through the numbers. It is a bit cramped when we get a big delivery of files, but we make it work. We like being in Adambakkam. It feels like home to us. The fans hum overhead, and we just keep clicking away at our keyboards, making sure everything is in order. It is just a normal office life.
