Periyathalai Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited

Out here in Dharmar Colony, at number 1/97, we’ve got our fish farmer group set up. It’s mostly just a bunch of us who’ve been around water our whole lives. We decided to get together as Periyathalai Fish Farmer Producer Company Limited because it made sense to work as a team. Handling the fish, the nets, and the transport takes a lot of hands. Most mornings start way before the sun is even up, checking on things and getting ready. It’s a messy job, honestly. You’re always wet or smelling like the sea, but we don’t mind it much anymore. Our office in the colony is small, just a place to keep the papers and meet up once in a while. We aren't some big city corporation with suits and ties. We’re just local folks trying to make sure the catch gets sold at a fair price. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate and we have to wait it out, which is frustrating. But then you have those good days when everything goes right. We’ve had to learn a lot about the business side of things, which was tricky at first. It’s not just about the fish; it’s about the logistics too. We share the equipment and help each other out when someone’s boat or tank has an issue. It’s a community effort, really. We’ve been at this for a while now, and the neighbors know where to find us if they need anything.
