We are located at 1, Sarva Seva Samunnati Farm, which is inside the Assefa Campus over in Pooriyampakkam Village. Chithamur Farmers Producer Company Limited is what we call ourselves. Being out here in the village means we are right in the middle of where everything happens. The campus is a busy place sometimes, with people coming and going. We spend our days looking at the crops and talking to the folks who grow them. It’s a practical kind of setup. We don't spend money on fancy things because that's not what the farmers here need. We need tools, good seeds, and a way to sell what we grow. Pooriyampakkam is a nice spot, but the work never really stops. Even when it's hot, someone is out there checking the fields. We started this company because we wanted to have a bit more say in how our stuff gets sold. It’s not always easy, and we make mistakes sometimes, but we are learning as we go. The building we are in is simple. It gets the job done. We have some old desks and a lot of notebooks filled with numbers. Most of us have lived around here all our lives, so we know the soil pretty well. We just take things one day at a time and try to help each other out when the harvest comes. It’s just a group of farmers trying to do right by the land.
