Pallava Collective Farmers Producer Company Limited has its office at 17/4 Sadras Road in Mangalam Village. This is over in the Thirukalukundram Post area of Kancheepuram. We are a collective, which really just means a bunch of us farmers got together to make things a bit more organized. The office is in a quiet part of the village where you can still hear the birds and the occasional motorbike. We don't have a big corporate team or anything like that. It is just a few of us who handle the day-to-day tasks. The walls inside are a bit bare and we keep our files in simple metal cupboards. We like to keep things straightforward. People come by to talk about the harvest or to see what the collective is doing this month. Sadras Road sees some traffic but Mangalam Village itself is quite peaceful. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. We just have our registers and a phone that rings quite a lot. Sometimes we sit outside if the weather is nice. We are just local people trying to help other local people get a fair deal. It is not a complicated setup. We just focus on what the members need and try to keep the paperwork in order. Kancheepuram is a big place but we feel right at home in this small corner of it doing our regular work.
