Golden Sun Hotel & Beach Resort

You can find us out on Kovelong Road, right near the beach. It’s a bit of a distance from the main city, which is why people like to come here for the weekend. The property is quite old and has a lot of open space and trees. We have rooms that are spread out, and it takes a bit of walking to get from one side to the other. Because we are so close to the ocean, the salt in the air tends to wear things down, so there is always some maintenance work going on. The rooms are simple and don't have a lot of modern gadgets. We find that most people spend their time outside anyway. The garden area is a bit wild in places, but we try to keep the paths clear. We have a small staff who helps with the cleaning and the food. It’s a very quiet place during the week, but it can get quite busy on Saturdays and Sundays when families arrive. We don’t have a lot of formal rules; we just ask people to be mindful of each other. Sometimes the power goes out when there is a storm, but we have a generator to keep the lights on. It’s a rustic kind of place, not a five-star hotel. We just provide a spot for people to enjoy the coast and get some sleep without too much fuss.
