Cheyyur Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our office is at NO.405/7B on Ayapakkam Road in Merkandai, not far from Thirukazhukundram. We are a group of farmers from the Cheyyur area who decided to work as a single unit. Most of us have our own small bits of land where we grow whatever the season allows. Joining together into this company makes it a bit easier to get things done, like buying seeds or finding trucks for the harvest. The road outside can be quite noisy with all the lorries passing by, but we are used to it. We aren't a big corporate entity with lots of money. We are just local people who know how to handle a plow and a shovel. Sometimes we sit in the office and have long discussions about which crops failed and why. It’s all a learning process for us. We don't have a website or any fancy brochures to hand out. If you want to see what we do, you just have to come to Merkandai and see the fields. We've been doing this for a long time, following what our fathers and grandfathers taught us. We don't use any complicated methods, just what works for our soil. It’s a tough life sometimes, especially when the weather doesn't cooperate, but we keep showing up every day to do the work. It's just how we live here.
