Varun Dance Studio

We are located in Sector 9 at the South Block, specifically units 183 to 187. It’s a pretty decent space once you get inside. We have the floors set up for dancing and some big mirrors so everyone can see what they are doing with their feet. It’s usually quite loud here because we always have the music playing. We teach different styles depending on what people want to learn. Some days it’s kids running around and other times it’s adults trying to get the steps right for a function. The studio gets a bit warm when there are a lot of people moving at once, even with the windows open. We’ve been in this Sector 9 spot for a bit. It’s not a fancy ballroom or anything, just a place where you can come and move. We spend a lot of time cleaning the floors because they get scuffed up pretty fast. Sometimes the music skips or the sound system acts up, but we just fix it and keep going. We don't really have a strict corporate vibe here. It's more about just getting the rhythm right. People from around the block come in after work or school. We have a small bench for people to sit and change their shoes. Most evenings are busy until late. It's a lot of repetition and sweat, but that's just part of the job.
