Satnam Marbles

Out here in Ward No. 10 of Village Banur, we have our shop called Satnam Marbles. We are situated right on the Patiyala Road, and it's quite easy to find us because we are near National Highway No. 64. Being so close to the highway means there’s a lot of traffic passing by, mostly big lorries and people traveling between Mohali and Patiala. The village vibe is still there, even with the big road nearby. We spend our time managing the marble stock we keep on the grounds. The Tehsil and District Mohali area has grown a lot lately, but our routine stays mostly the same. We open up the shutters, sweep the front, and wait for the day's work to begin. It gets quite windy sometimes, and the dust from the road covers the marble slabs, so we have to keep cleaning them so people can see the colors. We aren't a corporate office with a lobby or a secretary. It is just a workspace where we talk to customers and show them what we have in stock. Sometimes the dogs from the village come and sit in the shade of the slabs when it gets hot. We handle the loading ourselves or get a couple of helpers when the order is large. It’s honest work, and we’ve been doing it this way for years. If you're coming from the highway, you can't miss us sitting there on the side of Patiyala Road.
