Haryana Marble Store

We’ve got our spot set up in the Marble Market over in Sarangpur. It’s right there by Dhanas village. If you’ve ever walked through this market, you know it’s just row after row of stone. We try to keep our piles somewhat organized, but it’s hard when new stuff is coming in every other day. We get a lot of local folks from Dhanas coming in. They’re usually just looking for something basic for a floor or a small countertop. We don’t mind. We’ve been in this market long enough to know most of the other shop owners. We trade stories about the weather or how the roads are holding up. The dust here is something else. You wash the slabs in the morning and by noon they’re covered in a thin layer of grey again. It’s just part of the life. We don’t do much advertising or anything like that. People just know where the market is and they find us. We spend a lot of time just moving pieces around with the hand trolleys. It’s slow work but it gets done. We like being part of the Sarangpur community. It’s a busy place and there’s always something happening on the main road. We just keep the store open and wait for the next person to walk in. The stones are heavy, the days are long, but we like the work.
