You can find Reema Marble House out in the Marble Market near Village Dhanas. We are located quite close to the Dhanas Barrier, which is a spot most truck drivers and builders know well. Our place isn't like a showroom in the city center. It’s a yard and a shed where we keep heavy slabs of stone and marble. The ground is usually covered in a bit of white dust from the cutting, and there is always the sound of machinery somewhere nearby. We spend our days moving heavy blocks and showing people the different patterns in the stone. It is physical work and our hands stay pretty rough from handling the material. People come to us when they are building a house or fixing up a floor. They want to see the marble in person because pictures don't really show the texture. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with a coffee machine. You just walk into the yard and find one of us. We might be wearing dusty clothes, but we know our stock well. The market here in Dhanas is where a lot of the heavy lifting happens for Chandigarh’s construction. It gets hot in the summer out here, but we stay busy regardless of the weather. We load up the trucks, talk to the contractors, and keep the slabs moving. It is simple, honest work that we have done for years at this same spot.
