Noc Engineer

We are tucked away in the P. U. Campus in Chandigarh. Being at C-84 in Sector 14 means we see a lot of students and faculty passing by every day. It is a quiet spot mostly. We deal with engineering stuff, mostly technical things that keep systems running behind the scenes. It is not the kind of work that looks exciting from the outside. Usually, it is just us looking at screens or checking on hardware. The office is not very big. We have some desks and a lot of cables running everywhere. Sometimes the tea stall nearby is the highlight of the afternoon. We have been working out of this campus location for a good while now. It feels like part of the community here. We do our work and try to keep things stable. When something breaks, we fix it. That is the long and short of it. People know us as the guys who handle the network and the technical side of things. It is practical work. We do not use big words to describe it. The parking can be a bit of a mess during the middle of the day when classes are in session. We usually just walk from the nearby gate. We have a small kettle for making coffee when we have to stay late to finish a project. The walls are pretty bare, maybe just a calendar or two. It is just where the work happens.
