Khatana

Khatana is a small shop located at number 11 in Sector 41. We don’t have a lot of space, so every inch of the shelves is usually packed with something. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than two people are inside at the same time. We spend our mornings checking what we sold the day before and writing down what we need to get from the wholesalers. Sector 41 is a busy place, and being at Shop No. 11 means we see a lot of the daily life of the neighborhood. We know which neighbor is going to come in for their morning supplies and who usually waits until late in the evening. There is a certain rhythm to it that we’ve grown to like over the years. The floor is made of old tile that has a few cracks, and the light above the counter sometimes flickers, but it serves its purpose. We don't have any big goals of being the largest store in the city. We just want to stay open and keep the shelves stocked for the people who live nearby. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from morning until night. Sometimes we stand out front for a few minutes just to catch some fresh air and watch the cars go by. It’s a simple existence, and we are happy to be part of the community here in Sector 41.
