Hindustan Watch Ind is situated at Sco-89-91 on the first floor in Sector 17D. Sector 17 is the heart of the city, but being on the first floor makes us a little different from the shops on the ground level. You have to know where you're going to find us. We have more space than some of the smaller booths, which is good because we have some older machinery for making parts that you can’t buy anymore. The building is one of those classic Chandigarh structures, and it has a bit of a serious feel to it. We spend our hours sitting at long benches under fluorescent lights. It’s a bit of a climb up the stairs, but it’s worth it for the quiet we get away from the main plaza. We handle a lot of mechanical watches here, the kind with gears and springs that need a lot of attention. The air is usually still, and you can hear the scratching of our tools against the metal. We’ve been in Sector 17 for a long time and have seen the city change around us. We don't do much in the way of advertising; people usually find us through word of mouth. It's a steady, quiet existence up here above the shops, focusing on the tiny movements that keep the world on time. If you come by, just head up the stairs and look for the door with our name.
