We are based in Sector 23 D in Chandigarh. It is a fairly quiet part of the city compared to some of the other busy sectors. Even though the name says we are a US based MNC, the office here feels very local and low-key. We have a few rows of computers and some office chairs that have definitely seen better days. Most of the staff are quite young and they spend their time coding or talking to people overseas on their headsets. Because of the time difference with the US, some of our people stay in the office quite late into the night. The neighborhood is nice because there are so many trees around the building. We do not have a big canteen on the premises, so we usually just walk out to the local market to get snacks or lunch. It is a pretty relaxed atmosphere most of the time. There are not many bosses walking around in ties or bothering people. We just have our specific tasks for the day and we try to get through them. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a weird rattling noise, but we have all gotten used to it by now. It is just a regular office where people do their computer work and then head home. We do not have any big slogans on the walls or anything like that. We just write the software and test the systems. Chandigarh is a planned city, so everything is easy to find once you know the sector.
