Our place is at 2838/15 in Industrial Area Phase I, not too far from the Jain Mandir. The name is Behl Times & Tune because we deal with watches and also some electronics and audio stuff. It’s an interesting mix. You might hear a radio playing in the back while someone is working on a delicate watch movement at the front. The industrial area is a loud place with a lot of manufacturing going on, but inside our doors, things are a bit more focused. We have shelves lined with various parts and some older equipment we keep for spares. The floors are concrete and the walls are painted a simple white, though they’ve yellowed a bit over the years. We spend a lot of time cleaning out dust from old watches or trying to find a specific tune on the equipment we are testing. Having the temple nearby is nice because it gives a sense of direction to anyone coming to visit us for the first time. The shop gets a lot of light in the morning, which is the best time to do the fine work. We don’t have any big signs or loud music playing to get attention. Most people who come here are workers from the nearby factories or people who have known about this spot for years. It’s just a steady, daily business for us in this part of town. We keep the counter clear for customers to set their things down. Often, the day ends with us tidying up the tools.
