Amrit Watch Company is over at number 39 in Sector 19. We are very close to the church, which makes us pretty easy to find if you are new to the area. I’ve been running this shop for a long time. It’s a simple setup with a wooden counter and a few chairs for customers to sit. I spend most of my day sitting behind the desk with a magnifying glass. The light in Sector 19 is good in the mornings, which helps me see what I’m doing with the gears. Watches are delicate things, and you have to be careful with them. I see a lot of people who have had the same watch for twenty or thirty years. They don't want a new one; they just want their old one to keep working correctly. I understand that. I have a few clocks on the wall that I keep running just for the sound they make. It can be a bit quiet in the shop sometimes, but the people who come in are usually friendly and talkative. We talk about the neighborhood and how things have changed over the years. There used to be more shops like this, but now there are only a few of us left in the business. I don't mind. I have enough work to keep me busy from morning until evening. When the sun goes down, I lock up the shop and walk home. It’s a decent life.
