Vishwakarama Enggs

Our workshop is over in Anand Parbat, specifically at Gali number 10, Talli Walan. If you know this area, you know it is full of small shops and a lot of noise from machines. We are right in the middle of it at CN-1129. We do engineering work, which basically means we fix things and make parts when someone needs them. It is a greasy, loud place to spend the day, but it is what we know. Our hands are usually dirty by ten in the morning. We have some old machines that have been with us for years. They might look a bit rusty, but they get the job done better than some of the newer stuff. We don't have a clean office to sit in. Most of the time, we are standing on the concrete floor. People bring us metal parts that have snapped or machines that won't start. We take a look, give a honest answer, and get to work. It’s not the kind of place where you find fancy brochures. We just talk to our customers face to face. The street outside is narrow and always blocked with carts or bikes, so it can be a struggle just to get inside. But we have been here a long time. We know the neighbors and the other shop owners. It is a tough way to make a living sometimes, with the heat and the dust, but it is good to know how to fix things when nobody else can.
