Standard Machenical Works

We have been operating Standard Machenical Works out of the same spot at 17 Anand Parbat for a long time now. Gali No 09 is one of those narrow industrial lanes where you always have to watch out for trucks backing up. It is not the quietest place to spend your day. Most of the time, the air is full of the sound of lathes turning and the smell of cutting oil. It’s an industrial area, so you expect that kind of thing. We do a lot of different jobs here, mostly parts that people bring in when something breaks. There is no fancy reception area or anything. You just walk in past the main gate and someone will probably be there covered in grease. We don't really have a big staff, just a few guys who know their way around a machine. Sometimes the heat in the summer gets to be a bit much under the tin roof, but we just keep the fans going and get through the orders. It’s not always organized perfectly, but the work gets finished. People in the area know us by now, so they just drop things off and pick them up a few days later. It’s a basic setup, really. We just focus on the task at hand and try not to get too behind on the schedule.
