About Radhey Shiam Balkishan & Sons – Art & Craft in Central Delhi
We are over at 26/64 in Shakti Nagar. Radhey Shiam Balkishan & Sons is a name that’s been around for a long time, mostly because it's been passed down through the family. The building is older, and Shakti Nagar is a busy neighborhood with people always walking past the windows. It’s a bit of a maze inside with all the shelves and the old wooden furniture we still use. We don’t have a website or anything like that, just the phone and the people who know us. Most of our day is spent talking to regular customers or sorting out the inventory in the back. The air gets a bit stuffy in the summer, so we keep the doors open. You can hear the sounds of the street, the rickshaws, and the vendors outside all day. It’s a simple setup. We don't spend money on fancy rugs or bright lights. My father used to sit in the same chair I do now. We handle things the old-fashioned way, writing things down in ledgers and keeping track of who owes what. It’s a bit slow sometimes, but we like the pace. Shakti Nagar feels like home because everyone knows the address. We just show up every morning, open the shutters, and see what the day brings us. It's a family thing that we've kept going at 26/64 for many decades now.
