Pulse Food India Pvt Ltd is based over in Kamla Nagar, near the old Birla Textile area. This part of Delhi has so much history, and you can still feel it in the narrow lanes and the old buildings. We work with food products, mostly grains and pulses, so the smell of the warehouse is always very earthy. It’s a lot of work involving bags being moved around and trucks being loaded in the early morning before the traffic gets too bad. Kamla Nagar is usually packed with students and shoppers, but our side of things is more about the logistics and the heavy lifting. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Our space is filled with sacks, weighing scales, and a lot of ledgers. It gets quite dusty with all the flour and grains, so we are always sweeping. The team here has been together for a long time. We know each other’s families and we have our tea breaks together under the shade of the big tree outside. It is a very practical business. We don’t spend time on fancy marketing; we just focus on making sure the quality of the food is decent and that it gets to where it needs to go. Sometimes the weather makes things difficult, like when it rains and we have to cover everything up quickly. But we manage. It’s just honest work in an old part of the city that we’ve grown to love. We just take it one day at a time.
