We’ve been here at 8381, Roshanara Road for a long time now. The Delhi Flour Mills Co. Ltd. is just what it says on the sign. Every morning starts early, usually before the sun is even up, because that is when the wheat comes in. You can hear the machines humming from down the street if you listen close enough. It gets a bit dusty inside sometimes, but that is part of the job when you deal with flour all day. People in this part of Delhi know us well. We don’t do anything fancy, we just run the mills and make sure the bags get filled correctly. Some of the staff have worked here for decades, so we have a rhythm that just works. The floor is old but we keep it swept. It’s a busy spot on Roshanara Road, with trucks coming and going at odd hours. We don’t spend much time talking about what we do, because the work speaks for itself when the flour goes out the door. It is a loud place with a lot of moving parts, and there is always something to fix or adjust. We just try to get through the daily orders and keep the equipment running. Sometimes the traffic outside is a mess, but we manage. It’s just a regular mill doing regular work every single day. We stay focused on the grain and the machinery.
