Prathima Bananna Merchants

You can find us over in Inderpuri at EA-1/47. We have been working as Prathima Banana Merchants for quite a long time now. Dealing with fruit, especially bananas, means you do not really get many days off. They ripen when they want to, so we have to be here to move them before they go bad. It is a lot of physical work, lifting crates and checking the quality every single morning before the sun really gets high. The New Delhi heat can be tough on the produce, so we have to be quick about everything we do. Our spot in Inderpuri is not huge, but it is enough for what we need. We know most of the other merchants around here and the local vendors who come to pick up their daily stock. It gets pretty loud and chaotic during the morning rush, with trucks trying to navigate the narrow streets. We do not have a website or a marketing person. Most of what we do is just based on long-term relationships we have built up over the years. If you come by, you will likely see us covered in dust or carrying a heavy load. It is not glamorous, but it is how we make a living. We just focus on getting the fruit in and getting it out to the shops while it is still good. It is a straightforward business and we like it that way.
