You can find Shri Laxmi Beej Bhandar right at number 7, Netaji Subhash Marg. We’re in the Darya Ganj area, which is always packed with people and traffic. It’s the kind of place where you have to watch your step because of all the carts and people moving around. Our shop is mostly filled with bags of seeds and people coming in to ask what they should plant for the next season. It gets quite loud with the street noise coming in through the front, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. Darya Ganj has a lot of history, and we feel like just another small part of it. We don’t do any of that modern marketing stuff; people usually find us because they’ve been coming here for a long time or someone told them about us. The shelves are always full, and sometimes it’s hard to find a place to sit down when a new shipment comes in. We spend a lot of time chatting with the regulars who drop by just to see what’s new or to tell us how their last crop turned out. It’s a busy life, and there’s always something to sweep up or a bag to move, but we like the energy of the market. We just keep our heads down, sell our seeds, and try to make sure everyone leaves with what they needed for their fields.
