P.R.Leather

If you walk down towards Khanna Cinema in Paharganj, you’ll find us at No. 5084, right by Hotel Arjun. It’s a cramped area but that is just how the Main Bazar is most days. P.R.Leather has been around these streets for a long time now. The smell of the hides is something you never really forget once you step inside our door. We have stacks of material all over the floor because there isn't much shelf space left to use. Most days we are busy sorting through different pieces or talking to folks who wander in from the hotel next door asking for directions or looking at what we have. It’s a noisy street with all the rickshaws and people yelling, but we like the energy of it. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back on. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know how to handle the leather properly without making a mess. It’s dusty work and our hands usually end up pretty stained by the end of the shift. We don’t spend money on fancy signs or decorations. We just use the space we have to get the work done. Living and working in Paharganj means you see all sorts of people every single hour. It’s a bit chaotic but it’s our spot and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the bazaar after all these years.
