Ram Narain Vats

My office is located at number 688 on the Tis Hazari Main Road. If you know this part of the city, you know how busy it gets every single day. There is a constant stream of cars, rickshaws, and people walking by my window. I have been Ram Narain Vats at this location for a very long time now. The building is older, and the stairs are a bit steep and narrow, so you have to be careful when you come up to see me. Inside, the space is filled with the smell of old paper and ink. I have stacks of files everywhere, sometimes even on the floor if I run out of room on the desk or the shelves. I do not really believe in throwing things away if they might be useful later on for someone. My day usually starts early before the traffic gets too bad, and I spend a lot of time just reading and making notes. I do not use a lot of fancy equipment; just a basic phone and my pens. The ceiling fan has a bit of a wobble to it, but it keeps the air moving during the hot and humid months. I get a lot of people stopping in who are just passing by on their way to the court. It is a very functional way to live and work. I do not have any fancy brochures to give out. If someone wants to know what I do, we just sit down and talk for a bit.
