Om Leather

Om Leather is located at 1560 in the Main Bazar of Paharganj. We are right near the old Khanna Cinema, which most people use as a landmark to find us. Paharganj is a very intense place with tourists, rickshaws, and cows all moving through the same narrow streets. Our shop has that distinct smell of leather that hits you as soon as you step inside. We have bags, belts, and other things hanging from the walls and even the ceiling. The floor is a bit uneven and the wooden shelves have seen better days, but they hold everything up just fine. It gets very dusty here because of all the traffic outside, so we are constantly wiping down the merchandise. We’ve been here for a long time and have seen the neighborhood change a lot, though it still feels as chaotic as ever. We usually sit on the small bench at the front and watch the world go by when it’s quiet. There isn't much room to move around inside when there are more than two customers, so we often end up standing out on the step. It’s a simple life in a very loud part of Delhi. We don't have a website or anything like that, we just open the shutters every morning and see who comes through the door in the Main Bazar.
