Nishu Engineering Works

Nishu Engineering Works is located at 25/7 in Anand Parbat, right on Gali No 8. This part of the city is always humming with the sound of metal being worked on. Our shop is quite small, and we have to be careful with how we use the space so we don't trip over each other. It’s mostly full of lathes and grinders that have been with us for a long time. We do a lot of small engineering jobs, fixing parts or making things to order for local people. It is a greasy job, and there is always a smell of oil in the air, but that’s just how it is. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you come by, you’ll likely find us bent over a machine or cleaning up some scrap metal. We’ve lived and worked around Anand Parbat for so long that the noise of Gali No 8 feels like background music now. Sometimes we have to wait for parts to arrive, so we sit out on the steps for a bit and watch the world go by. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have any big goals of becoming a huge company; we just want to keep the shop running and do a decent job on whatever comes across our workbench. It’s hard work on the back, but it’s what we know how to do best.
