Leather Craft International

Our spot is Shop No. 419 in the Main Bazar of Paharganj. If you've walked through that market, you know it's a total maze. It’s loud, crowded, and there is always something going on. We also use Room No-104 in the Ankur Guest House nearby. It sounds a bit strange to have a workspace in a guest house, but that’s just how Paharganj works. Space is hard to find here. Leather Craft International is basically just these two small spots filled with the smell of tanned hides and leather glue. We have piles of leather sheets everywhere you look. Sometimes you can barely find a place to sit down because of all the scraps and tools on the benches. The shop at 419 is where we keep the finished things, while the room in the guest house is more for the quiet work and storage. The stairs are narrow and steep, so moving heavy rolls of leather up and down is a real workout. We don't have any fancy signs or a glass storefront. Most people find us by just wandering through the bazaar or by word of mouth. It's a busy life here. The tea seller knows our order by heart and the local porters are always stopping by to chat. It’s not a polished business, just a lot of manual work in a very old part of Delhi. We just try to keep up with the orders.
