Kla Rice India Public Limited is based at 21/3 New Rajinder Nagar. It’s a residential-feeling area but we’ve got our setup here to manage the rice business. We deal with various grades of rice coming in and going out to different markets. It’s a lot of logistical work, talking to suppliers and making sure the quality is what it needs to be. Our office isn't anything special to look at, just desks, phones, and samples of grain in small jars. We spend a lot of time on the phone or checking shipping documents. Rice is a staple, so the demand is always there, which keeps us pretty occupied throughout the year. New Rajinder Nagar is a nice spot, a bit calmer than the main commercial hubs, which we appreciate when things get hectic. We don't do much in the way of advertising; we just focus on the bulk orders and the regular buyers we’ve known for years. Sometimes there are delays with the harvests or the transport, and we just have to deal with those as they come. It’s the kind of business that relies on steady relationships and knowing your product inside and out. We aren't trying to be the biggest company in India, just a reliable one that handles its business properly from this little corner of the city. We keep the operations simple and just focus on getting the grain where it needs to go.
