Kartar Engineering Works

Kartar Engineering Works has its shop at Aa-7, Street No. 4D in the Anand Parbat Industrial Area. It’s right off New Rohtak Road, so there’s always the sound of traffic and horns in the background. Our street is one of those narrow ones where you have to be careful when a big truck tries to pass through. Inside, it’s a typical engineering setup. We have the lathes and some other equipment that’s seen a lot of use over the years. There is always a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of cut metal in the air. We spend our days mostly working on different mechanical parts and fixing things that people bring in. It’s honest work, even if it gets your hands dirty. The guys here have been doing this for years, so they know the machines inside out. We don’t really do much in the way of fancy stuff. It’s more about making sure the measurements are right and the metal is cut the way it’s supposed to be. Sometimes the power cuts out and we just have to sit and wait for it to come back, which gives us a chance to talk for a bit. We keep our tools on big boards on the wall so we don't lose them, though things still go missing sometimes. It’s a busy, gritty place, but we like the pace of it and just keep moving.
