About Sysbrix Leathers – Fashion & Trends in Central Delhi
Our small workshop is at H-14 in the Abul Fazal Enclave, which is part of Jamia Nagar in Okhla. We work with leather, making various items like bags or belts, depending on what's needed at the time. The smell of leather is the first thing you notice when you walk in. It’s a strong scent that stays on your clothes all day. We have a few heavy-duty stitching machines and a large table for cutting the hides. I learned how to work leather from an old craftsman in the neighborhood and eventually opened my own place here. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be careful about where we stack the finished goods. It’s just me and two other guys doing the work most days. We don’t have a website or a marketing person. Most people find us because they live nearby or someone told them we do decent work. The lighting isn't great in the evenings, but we have some bright lamps over the workbenches so we can see what we're doing. We aren't trying to compete with the big brands you see in malls. We just make things that last and hope people like them enough to come back. It’s a lot of manual labor and our hands are usually stained from the dyes, but that’s the job. We're just a small part of the Okhla community and we're happy with that.
