Freshkart Foods International

We operate out of Kamla Nagar. Freshkart Foods International sounds like a big name, but we’re just a bunch of people working with food supplies. Our space is usually filled with the smell of whatever came in that morning, sometimes spices, sometimes grains. It’s a lively neighborhood with lots of shops and students walking around. We have a small office and a storage area that’s always a bit of a mess. Boxes are everywhere. We spend our time talking to vendors and making sure the quality is what it should be. It’s not a polished operation with glass walls. We have old desks and chairs that squeak. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook, and other times it’s quiet enough to hear the street noise outside. We like being in Kamla Nagar because everything is right there. If we need something, we just walk down the street. We started this because we wanted to get involved in the food supply chain. It’s had its ups and downs over the years. Some days shipments are late and everyone is grumpy. Other days, things go smooth and we can leave on time. We don't do a lot of advertising; word of mouth is usually how people find us. It’s just a normal business trying to do things right in a busy part of town. We just keep going day by day.
