D S Panchal Engineering & Welding Works

D S Panchal Engineering & Welding Works is tucked away in the Anand Parbat Industrial Area at 1017/342. If you know Anand Parbat, you know it is all hills and narrow streets where everyone is making something. Our shop is full of welding machines, metal rods, and the smell of burnt iron. My father started this work and now I am the one holding the torch most days. The address 1017/342 is a bit hard to find if you aren't from around here, but the locals know us. We do a lot of custom welding, mostly just fixing things that people bring in or making small parts for other shops nearby. Sparks are always flying, and I have to wear my heavy mask even when it is boiling hot inside. The walls are blackened from years of smoke, and the workbench is thick with scratches. We don't have a computer or anything like that, just a notebook where I write down what needs to be done. It is a noisy life, with the sound of grinding metal constantly in my ears. Sometimes the power goes out, and everything goes quiet for a minute, which is a strange feeling. We work until the sun goes down, then we lock up the heavy metal gates. It is honest work and it keeps the family fed. Anand Parbat is a crowded place, but it is where our shop belongs.
