Bawa Leathers

You will find Bawa Leathers over on Street No. 2 in Doriwalan. That is in the Karol Bagh area, which is always busy and noisy with people. Our building number is 11071. We have been working with leather for a long time now. It is a tough material, and working with it every day makes your hands rough, but we like the craft. The smell of tanned hides is everywhere in our shop and you can smell it from the street. It is a small space, and we have leather scraps and heavy rolls tucked into every single corner. We do not have a fancy showroom with glass cases. Most of what we do is wholesale or for people who know exactly what they are looking for when they walk in. Karol Bagh has changed a lot over the years with new shops, but our little corner in Doriwalan stays pretty much the same as it always was. We have a few old sewing machines that have seen better days but they still run just fine for our needs. We don't use much technology here, just a basic phone and some old notebooks to track what we owe and what is owed to us. It is a family-style environment even though we are not all actually related. We drink a lot of tea together and talk about the price of skins or the local news. It is not a glamorous life, but it is a good living. We just focus on the leather and let everything else take care of itself.
