Aaram Leathers

If you walk down Wuthucattan Street in Periamet, you’ll find Aaram Leathers at No. 34. This part of town is famous for leather, and we’re right in the thick of it. The street is narrow and usually crowded with carts and people moving hides around. Our place is a typical Periamet building. It’s older and has that specific smell of leather that stays with you even after you leave. We don’t have a lot of space, so we have to stack things carefully to keep the aisles clear. It’s a bit of a maze inside sometimes. Most of the day is spent checking the quality of the materials and talking to the people who bring them in. We don’t use a lot of technology here; it’s more about looking at the product with your own eyes. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re usually too busy to worry about that. It’s a loud, busy environment, but we’ve been here so long it feels normal. We know the other shop owners on the street and we all help each other out when needed. It’s just how things work in this neighborhood. We stay focused on the leather and making sure what we send out is what was asked for. It's a simple, honest way to spend the day.
