We are based in Villpunirmukh which is under the Punirmukh post office in the Dholai area. Palonghat Agro Project Farmers Producer Company Limited is run from Abdul Mannan Mazumder’s location. It is a humble setup. You will mostly find us sitting around discussing the latest problems with the crops or how the transport to the market is going to work. We are all local farmers who have lived in this part of Dholai for years. We know the land here like the back of our hands. We know which spots get too wet when it rains and where the soil is a bit thin. This company is our way of trying to get organized. It is not always smooth sailing. We have disagreements and sometimes the paperwork gets messy. But we are trying to make it work. We spend a lot of time in the fields and then we come together to see how we can help each other out. It is better than trying to do it all by yourself. We do not have any big investors or corporate money. It is just us and what we can produce from our own land. We are proud of what we grow and we just want to get it to people who need it. That is the whole story really.
