S. S. Enterprise

S. S. Enterprise is located right near the Sanai Marriage Hall in Burdwan. If you're coming from Surikhana More, we are easy to spot on Ramakrishna Road. It can get pretty loud when there is a wedding going on next door, but we've gotten used to the music and the crowds over the years. We started this little place to handle basic supplies and trade. It’s a family-run thing mostly. My brother handles the deliveries and I stay back to manage the stock and talk to whoever drops by. The building is old, and the roof leaks a tiny bit when it pours in the monsoon, but it serves us well enough for now. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop in the district, just a reliable place where locals can get what they need without a fuss. Sometimes the electricity goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit outside and wait for it to come back. Life moves at its own pace here. We know most of our regular customers by name and even know what they are going to ask for before they say it. It’s just how things work in this part of town. We keep the books manually because the software is too confusing for us. It works fine for what we need. We usually close up early on Saturdays to spend time with our families. It's a quiet way to live and work. Some days the tea is better than others, but that's life.
