Prem Tent House Punjab Tent House

We are tucked away behind Suraj Talkies in Rani Bazar. It is a bit of an old area in Bikaner, but everyone knows where the cinema is. Prem Tent House and Punjab Tent House are basically the same operation running out of this spot. Our day starts early, usually before the sun gets too high. Bikaner is known for its heat, so if you do not move fast in the morning, you are in trouble. Our warehouse is full of metal pipes, stacks of plastic chairs, and big bundles of colorful cloth. It smells like old fabric and metal in there. We do not have a fancy showroom. Most of our work happens out on the dusty fields where people have their parties. We load up the rickshaws and small trucks with everything needed for a wedding or a prayer meeting. Sometimes we are working late into the night under floodlights to get a stage ready. It is tiring work. My clothes are usually covered in dust by noon. We have seen a lot of changes in Rani Bazar over the years, but the need for a good tent hasn't changed much. People come to us because we are right here in the neighborhood. We do not spend money on big ads. We just focus on the job at hand. It is a simple life, mostly just organizing logistics and making sure we do not lose any equipment at the site. That is us in a nutshell, just working behind the theater.
