Living and working in Jnv Colony in Bikaner has its own vibe. Our place is at 4 E 125, right behind that Youth Fashion shop. If you are from around here, you know it is a decent neighborhood. Dj Tomar started out pretty small, just me and a couple of speakers that I bought second-hand. Now we have a bit more gear, but it is still a modest operation. Bikaner is known for its food, but we are all about the music and making sure the sound is loud enough for a wedding. We keep everything at the house, so the garage is usually full of amplifiers and lights. It gets a bit crowded when we are trying to load the van for a gig. My cousins help me out when things get busy. We don't have a mission statement or any of that corporate talk. We just show up, set up the poles and the speakers, and play what people want to hear. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to mess with the generator, which is always a bit of a headache. The road near Jnv Colony can get busy, but we manage to get our stuff moved out okay. It is a lot of heavy lifting and late nights, but it keeps us going. We are just local people trying to make a living with music. It is hard work but we are used to it by now.
