Our spot is out in Bhuj, specifically in Taluka Bhuj within the Kutch district. We are situated at Plot No. 76, and if you’re looking for us, the Shiv Mandir nearby is the best landmark to use. The air out here is usually dry and carries a bit of the desert dust. Working with cement in this climate means you’re always dealing with the heat. We spend our shifts moving stock and managing the yard where the trucks pull in. The temple is close enough that we can hear the bells sometimes, which is a nice break from the sound of the loading equipment. It’s a dusty job, and by the end of the day, our boots and clothes are usually covered in a thin layer of grey. We aren't a big corporate office with air conditioning everywhere; it’s a working site through and through. We have a small group of regulars who come by for their supplies, and we’ve gotten to know the truck drivers who make the long hauls across Kutch. Life here follows the sun. We start when it comes up and try to get the heavy work done before the afternoon heat gets too intense. It’s a plain, honest way to make a living. There aren't any frills here, just stacks of cement and the daily routine of keeping the supply chain moving for the local builders.
