Ghanshyam Building Materials

Our place, Ghanshyam Building Materials, is situated near the Jadeshwar Mahadev temple in the village of Kera. Being in the Kutch district, we are used to the dry air and the wide-open spaces that surround us. Our business is pretty simple; we supply the basic things people need to build houses and shops around the village. We have cement, sand, and stones. Most of our customers are our neighbors or people from nearby villages who we have known for years. We don't have a big corporate structure or a bunch of managers. It is just us and a few helpers who move the heavy materials around when someone makes a purchase. The yard is usually quite busy in the mornings before the heat sets in. We sit outside the small shed we use as an office and wait for the tractors to arrive to pick up loads. Sometimes we have to wait a few days for a new shipment of cement to come in from the city, but people here understand how it is with the transport. We have been here for a long time and we plan to stay for many more years. The temple nearby brings a lot of people past our gate, so we see a lot of friendly faces every day. We aren't looking to expand into a big company or anything like that. We just want to keep providing the materials that our community needs to grow. It is honest work and it keeps us busy.
