Sri Jagat Janani Dall & Flour Mill

You can find us at the Ramchandrapur Bazaar in the village of Jatni. Our mill is located right in the heart of the community, not far from the Shiv Mandir. The sound of the machines grinding grain is something you get used to pretty quickly around here. It is a dusty environment because of all the flour and dall we process every day, but that is just the nature of the work. We have heavy sacks of grain stacked up against the walls, and there is always a layer of fine powder on the floor. People from the village and the surrounding areas of Khurda come to us to get their staples processed. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. Most of our business comes from people just walking in or hearing about us from their neighbors. The air inside is warm from the motors running, and we usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background. Sometimes the belt on a machine snaps and we have to stop everything to fix it, which can be a real pain when there’s a line of people waiting. We just try to do a good job and make sure the flour is ground right. It is hard work, and your clothes are always white by the end of the shift, but it’s what we do here in Jatni to keep things running. It's just a regular village mill life.
