Durga Rice Mill

Durga Rice Mill is over at S-436'B' in the Satyasai Enclave part of Khandagiri. It is not a very quiet place, to be honest. The machines start up early and they make a lot of noise until the sun goes down. Most of us have been working here for a long time, so we are used to the dust and the way the rice smells when it is being processed. The trucks come in through the main gates and they block up the space sometimes while they wait to get loaded with bags. We have a small office where the paperwork gets done, but most of the action is out on the floor. Khandagiri is a busy area anyway, so there is always something going on outside our doors. People walk by and peek in at the piles of grain. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can. Some days are harder than others, especially when the heat gets trapped inside the building. We just keep at it, stacking the bags and making sure the machines are running like they should. It is a simple life here, really. We know the neighbors and they know the sound of our mill. Sometimes we sit outside for a tea break and just watch the traffic go by on the road. It is just how things are at Durga Rice Mill.
